Getting back to the topic at hand ...

Getting back to the topic at hand ...A short refresher for those on this thread who don't follow or don't have access to the SI forums. For all those with a position in ANV (long or short) here's a little interesting reading to help understand a little about the specific area in which ANV decided to "put their hole". As a reminder, Anvils well is located in Webb County. For the benefit of those who may not already know, the regulatory body that controls most of the oil and gas activity in the state of Texas is the RailRoad Commission of Texas. Click Here for their home page. A little more digging at the site ( Click Here ) will show that Webb County is located in RRC (RailRoad Commission) District #4. Let's do a bit more investigation of District #4 ... Click Here. Note that the information from this page is current (posted as of June 5th) with the stats for Table I from May 1998 and the stats for Table II from March 1998. Looking at Table I, we see that district #4 has issued more permits to drill and more gas completions than any other district in all of Texas. Looking further at Table II, we see that Webb County (home of Anvils well) is ranked second out of the top ten gas producing counties. Mind you, these are the top ten counties in all of Texas, not just District #4. Anyone concerned about the "probabilities of success" should think again about the management Anvil has on-site in Webb County and the geographic location of their well. Of course, there is no such thing as "sure thing", but the "odds" seem to be stacked in our favor. Looking forward to results on second frac! P.S. Shakes, sorry to see you go!
