RE: quarter revenue guessJulius, of course you are correct in suggesting the key question is whether pilots turn into roll-outs. In my view, significant growth in revenue, quarter after quarter, is one way to gauge interest and success in SMY's products and services. Double or triple, quarter after quarter, growth is undoubtedly a very good sign. I don't think we would be seeing this sort of growth if the pilots were seriously flawed or failing. And if pilots are succeeding, there is good reason, given the imperatives of Walmart and DoD and others, to believe that pilots will ripen into orders. So this quarter's numbers will be revealing, significant but certainly not conclusive. Personally, I would be disappointed if the numbers are any less than double that of the last quarter. And if they are triple the last quarter, I would consider the quarter to be very, very successful. Anything more be most impressive. So I will be quite happy, delighted really, to see that the posters whose guesses have been north of $600 T are correct. Of course, my optimism will grow considerably if SMY doubles or triples revenue again in the next quarter.
One more thing. I’ve been away from the screen for a while, so please forgive me if someone has already made this point. I noticed that in the announcement indicating that trading on the TSX would commence on May 6th the following forward looking statement made by Cliff:
“We also anticipate a growth in North American opportunities as the deadlines for compliance with RFID mandates draws closer. Furthermore, we are turning our attention to other regions of the world where RFID adoption is beginning to show signs of meaningful traction.'”
I find the second sentence intriguing. I can’t help but conclude that SMY is poking around the far east - China, Japan, etc. Where else could be we seeing RFID traction in areas that SMY has not been heretofore involved? And, of course, this theory makes sense given the amount of supplies from the far east that make their way to Walmart, DoD and others.
