More Comments from Longwedx (part 1 )34" Panel - Part 1 by: longwedx (45/M/Saint Louis, MO) 05/25/04 06:47 pm Msg: 1993 of 1994 When I got back to iFire's booth at SID, David Wills was just leaving to take an investment advisor from Raymond James and the COO from Paradigm to the Grand Hyatt to see the latest version of the 34"...and David asked if I wanted to go along too. Tony Johnston was there and had a few minutes between partner presentations to show off the 34" prototype and answer questions. They had two in the room, one in a Sanyo case originally made for PDP and one in an iFire case. The Sanyo PDP case was about 4" thick, but the iFire was about 1" the same as for the 17" panel. Sanyo wanted iFire to put one of the panels in a Sanyo-branded case for SID, so iFire did. Everyone agreed that the picture on the 34" was much better quality than the 17". Tony said that was due to improved processes and being a native HDTV picture. It was a great picture...only a little cloudiness in a couple of places which was due to depositing the phosphors on a 34" panel with tools made for 17". They couldn't get it completely uniform. But other than the cloudiness no noticable screen defects at all.
