RE: Is a buyout possible?

RE: Is a buyout possible?Don't think a buyout will happen in the near future unless we simply ran out of cash and were unable to raise anymore to keep going. As more customers get loaded on, income rises, along with value of company. Sure management would rather hold o a year or tweo longer to realise a much bigger profit than sell now. Sabres core business was making income from selling airfares. (Sabre is on of 4 larges GDS's (Global distribution systems), GDS's were like propriatary Internet for travel industry developed decades ago. With the advent of the Internet they have serious competeion in distribution, some airlines no longer use GDS's!! To maintaing income, the GDS's are diversifying, looking for more and more content. Too expensive for majority individual compnaies to write interfaces for all GDS's and the Internet. SCS's orginal business, Solarnet was top distribute consolidator and tour inventory accross originally all 4 platforms, and more recently the internet too. Sabre needs only interface to 1 API to be able to access all inventory on Solarnet / TT/SB. The more inventory we have, the more attractive we are. What's more, anyone using TT/SB as their travel management backend get access to distroibuting their inventory over SRM (Sabre Rate manager for consolidated airfare) and in future, other Sabre distribution channels, Internet (via solarnet or their own web site) agaentware and I think Discount Tickets). This is why you hear of tour companies get so excited by TT/SB, it's not only a management system, it has potentially some of the best sales distribution channels in the industry. The name of the game is inventory, implemenattions.... Value wil follow, and many think ultimately SCS will be bought, but not yet, not for peanuts. Idle
