DEMO says: Too many times, mobile professionals find themselves out of the office and in dire need of data that resides on the desk-top. There are many good solutions for remote access to files, and for years pcAnywhere and its ilk have provided for remote operation of desktop apps. Still, these solutions are often slow, and require software installs and support of IT professionals. Route1 has a much better, faster, secure, and very cost-competitive solution that makes every desktop appli-cation and file accessible from Route1’s innovative hard-ware. Route1 is the smart alternative to laptop computing.
Market Outlook: By 2005, most mobile devices will have wireless Internet access and connect remotely, becoming extensions of larg-er environments. According to IDC, Meta Group, and oth-ers, Route1’s market comprising handhelds, notebook and tablet PCs, and access infrastructure was worth $62.8B in 2003. It is expected to grow to $101.2B by 2007.
