RE: More Arsenic Issues
RE: More Arsenic IssuesAyed
Chris touched bases with me from where he is now up at Fairbanks. Rio's beefs then as now took one test in which the pH was not properly adjusted and in which very low iron contents occured and tried to make a mountain out of a mole hill back then. With proper pH and adequate iron contents you don't get movement of the arsenic out of the ferrocretes that form from this stuff. On the hill thats very true since the wall rock in the middle Yellowjacket is limey and has one heck of a lot of Fe contents, as biotite, as hematite and as magnetite in addition to sulfides. There are even some very cool carbonitite tuffs in the section, carbonate lavas.
The reason that As is not very mobil in the system and that you have such high soils As are linked. One of the easiest ways to explore for the desired horizons in the section is simply doing soils for As contents.
