RE: you cannot go wrong

RE: you cannot go wrongI dont know much about the exploration on Southampton Isand. I know that Stornoway Diamonds and Shear Minerals in partnership with BHP (owners of Ekati Diamond Mine) have found a lot of pipes in the Churchhill Area (around Rankin Inlet) and on Melville Penisula. I will have to check out DIT and other companies exploring on Southampton Isle. DeBeers is trying to find as many economic pipes in the north as they were left out on the initial finds by Charles Fipke (which became the Ekati Mine) and Abers Diavik Mines. DeBeers was searching in the North way longer then Fipke and came up with nothing. So now they are signing alot of agreements with juniors in the hopes of finding something. They have Snap Lake (2006) coming on stream but costs seem to always escalate on their project. I think they paid to much for Winspear and didnt know what they were buying. As for SNO handshake argreement with DeBeers, I wouldnt trust that 100% at all. There has always been rumors flying around the north the DeBeers has persisently asked BHP how much it would cost to buy Ekati from them. DeBeers desparately needs to have a mine in an area of the world where they have been shut out. Where there are diamonds DeBeers must be as well. Stornoway has been successful in Nuvavut as their CEO (Eira Thomas) helped Aber find the pipes they are currently mining. She is the daughter of Abers CEO (just a tid bit for you). Thanks for the info on GMR. Will have to check them out. Porkchop
