Analogy on RFIDThe point about SAMsys taking off like a rocket got me to thinking about a project I worked on. Building one largest rail yards in Canada.
Anyway the Analogy goes like this. The yard's train cars are filling up with product for customers. All the spur's represent different RFID companies that are filling up cars with product ready to roll.
Problem is that the customer decided he didn't need the product right now. So now the people that where hitching a ride to that customers site (shareholders) begin to wonder if this train is every going to get them to their destination. As these are all nice companies they tell the riders that the train is indeed coming but it's delayed.
So now some of the riders jump off the cars (some breaking their ankles) while others decide to chill and wait for the train. After all they certainly can't do a darn thing to get that train engine to the yard any quicker and they know the trains coming, just a little later then they expected. And if they bail now they will never get there.
So they wait, some happy they know the train will come, others POed because they where told the train was supposed to be here already.
Out of the night sky they see a light and everyone is happy to see the train has arrived, however due to the fact the yard is full they all wonder which spur line the engine is going to hook-up to. And who is going to make it to their destinations.
Well the engine hooks up to SAMsys spur and the engine slowly starts pulling the cars away while the people on the other spurs jump off their cars in the hope of getting onto the SAMsys train before it gains to much speed.
As the engine fades back into darkness people are stilling running after the train, wishing they would have picked that spur first.
The train chugs along gaining speed slowly, a while later the cars reach their destination.
The people that jumped ON the SAMsys cars are elated as they have reached their destination. They are also glad they picked the SAMsys spur for they have arrived, while the other spurs still have cars full of product and are still waiting to leave the station.
The engine hasn't come for us yet but it's being readied and soon our product will be heading to our customers.
Okay so I'm not much of a story teller, but I hope you got the jist.
