SASK Athabasca Basin Read
SASK Athabasca Basin ReadSaskatchewan's famed Athabasca Basin, home of the world's largest and richest uranium mines. The Athabasca Basin currently produces 32% of the world's uranium supply - a number that is expected to increase to 50% by the end of the decade.
" Athabasca Basin," is amid a bull market clearly evidenced by uranium's recent leap to over $20 a pound. "The richest uranium deposits in the world are in the Athabasca Basin.. As worldwide energy demands continue to soar, already 40 new nuclear reactors are under construction, this shortfall is expected to grow and worldwide demand for the immediate future is expected to exceed supplies by 25% in near term.
A continuing bull market in uranium is virtually a given, according to a number of noted analysts and market watchers who are bullish on uranium:
* James Dines, respected editor of The Dines Letter, says " Soaring energy demands so far has merely put oil in the headlines but uranium will be a bigger story". - James Dines, Sept 2004.
* "Nuclear power is not only a clean source of energy, it is an abundant source of energy. And it might be a more prevalent source of energy than what many people realize".- Paul Van Eeden, Oct 2004.
* The European Gold Centre calls uranium "the newest gold", noting that prices have doubled since 2003.
