RE: to the expert on scs technologies

RE: to the expert on scs technologies> Simply put we cannot assume that the lack of content on public > access or retail page is a reflection that the back end or travel > agent portion is not 100% up right? These remain unrelated in > efficiency Absolutely. All Static info on the website is the domain of Totalvacations and their web developers. Bookable content (behind agent login) is made up of two components. Total's own inventory which they are responsible for uploading into TT/SB, and 3rd party content, hosted on alternate systems to which SCS creates links to access and book. Though actually a suite of programs each facilatating different links it is tyically referred to as the API. Reality it is an eveolving peice of code to which links to additional 3rd parties are added. There are two distinct aspects to it, the API that allows 3rd party programs to interrogate and book content held and available to TT/SB. They second a suite of links to 3rd party compnents, GDS's for example. >On the other hand we can all see that the retail portion is not up to >par, yet getting the site up if the back end re; travel agent portion >was not working either would make little sense wouldn't it? > My take is that the only reason they unlocked the site is that it is > now fully functional for travel agents and they were not willing to > wait for the retail end to be up to speed for an opening > That lack in retail or public page delivery is unlikely to be on scs > part as you said, so that is a plus for us > Considering the latest development and my understanding that the > latest BOD additions expertise is in delivering front end for > retails I feel pretty good that we are heading in the rigth > direction. How much is functional behind agent login is something we are specualting on. It is true that they can test this without making it public as they have, so it is a reasonable to assume there is some finctionality back there. I doubt they would have written 'Beta' on the front page if they were rolling it out to all agents. I think it is what it says, a system in Beta test, limited TA's and transacctions, final stages of iterative devlopment, maybe some content still to load? I agree we are heading in right direction. Look forward to seeing the word Beta vanishing from the front screen and content on public pages complete. Idle
