Holiday Blessings For You

Holiday Blessings For YouAt Thanksgiving this mathematical spiritual formula came to me: 1. Count your blessings. 2. Give thanks for them. 3. They will multiply. 4. Share them. After the holiday hubbub, I read back over this "formula" and decided to actually try it: I would take long enough to actually think about and pin down the specific blessings in my life, particularly the ones I took for granted or had compared perhaps enviously to other people's seemingly greater ones. I wrote them down, just a few words each. Then, I pictured that blessing and specifically gave thanks to the Divine One for it. I tried to let the thankful FEELING fill my thought of that blessing. I switched my subliminal level of thinking from "what I have now might be all there is/I have to protect/control it/fear for future lack of it", to "this is great/this is a growing thing/whatever I get I'll give thanks for/exhale and feel expansive, think big, let myself grow this year, enjoy the uncertainty and trust that guidance is here for me in all situations. All that is good for me can grow in the right way, shape and timing, whether I understand it or not. My blessings I look forward to sharing with others!" This exercise helped me get through a real tough spot with a more powerful attitude and I resolved to do this thanks formula as often as possible, boiling it down to: When I am experiencing a good thing in my life, or a tough thing that I realize is meant for me to grow from by living through it, I try to say inside, "Thank you. This is a gift. Thank You. This is a blessing. This is my life and I thank You." May your blessings be counted, given thanks for, and multiplied so that your cup runneth over... Merry Christmas!
