Shooting ourselves in the foot
Shooting ourselves in the footApparently lots of us have been calling up Total Vacations asking questions about the website. To the point where they are getting quite
irritated.
They set up an email facility for us where they will keep us informed of progress, and the website cleary says beta, (not live). I don't think we are going to get a blow by blow account of what transactions they have put through, how many TA's are using it, how testing is going, when they will be live. But we will know when they are live becuase they will probably email all of us who signed up on the website and they will take the 'beta' away.
For the more technical questions, Total are not even the people to ask, development of the site is done in india.
Probem is, Total sign up with TT/SB then get bombarded by calls from SCS shareholders basically asking if our product is working, is it any godd, how much money will we make from this.....!!!
We are not creating a good impression or instilling any confidence in them. It is not creating a good impression of SCS and they are recievening complaits from Total. Worse it is not going to help us when we introduce new potential customers to Total as a reference site.
Two requests.
1) Check in with SCS with questons first, if they don't know the answer give them a chance to find out before calling Total, and again, post any answers.
2) If anyone has learned anyhting in addition to what we have heard already, please post it, rather than having everyone else call up total with the same questions.
3) I would love to hear more from SCS on what the status of the Total booking engine and migration to TT/SB from speedres is. Pat, Frank care to comment? However in the absence of any further information, and with a sign on the site saying beta, you can safely assume Total are NOT YET LIVE! We do know they are very commited to this project from their multi city tour they did recently and from the fact they have put so much moeny and effort in to getting a very professional beta site up and viewable.
And they have demonstrated a commitment to inform us when they are live.
Bottom line, it is in all of our interests to stop hassling TotalVacations about their website.
