PITTSBURGH (AP) - "The very rich are different from you and me," according to F. Scott Fitzgerald - but not in at least one important respect, a new poll suggests.
They have plenty of cash but a surprising number of affluent Americans are ill-prepared for the eventuality that they can't take it with them, says PNC Advisors, a wealth-management unit of PNC Financial Services Group.
More than one-third of people with $10 million US or more in investable assets don't have wills and have not named trustees or executors for their estates, according to PNC's poll of 792 well-off adults.
Why? Fifty-six per cent blamed simple procrastination.
Another finding of the poll - stop the presses! - is that money apparently can't buy happiness.
Only 46 per cent of the $10-million-up club said they have become happier as their assets have grown.
Anyone with too much money please feel free to call me.. I'm sure I could put it to good use..
