Mr. Skarica most recently held the position of Chief Technology Advisor of Nortel's Global Cable MSO S olutions team. He has spent the past 5 years working at Nortel Networks R+D facility in Ottawa. His team was in charge of targeting and developing emerging and next generation technologies as well as end-to-end network solutions for the Cable Multi System Operators (MSO) market. For the previous eleven years Mr. Skarica was with corporate engineering teams of several Canadian MSO's including Maclean-Hunter, Rogers, and Cogeco. He is both well-known and highly respected throughout the cable MSO industry for his several patents, industry presentations, and development of emerging technologies and network solutions. While at Nortel Networks, Mr. Skarica was instrumental in the detailed evaluation, and first MSO market trial, of Plaintree's LED based Free Space Optics (FSO) product.
