Tungsten prices on the rise again !!!!

Tungsten prices on the rise again !!!! European APT prices to go over $100 Beijng (Asian Metal) 20-Jan-05 APT prices were reported to have break the price limit of $100 per mtu in Europe market, as had been widely anticipated by buyers and traders, with current main stream prices around $96-100 per mtu, some $2 increased since last week. APT prices have been rising as buyers contend with limited supply of ore in China, the world’s largest supplier of tungsten. Some European trader reported selling material at $100 per mtu, and subsequently buying replacement goods at $101 per mtu. This ndicated the severity and rapidity with which prices are rising. Chinese are again trying to push tungsten ore towards 50,000 renminbi, and if it does, that will equate to APT at $115 per mtu. It’s currently at 46,000, which is $103-105, said trader sources. Ferro-tungsten prices also keep rising. The alloy is trading at $14.30-14.80 per tonne basis in warehouse Rotterdam, but new offers are reported at $15 per kg and above.
