DVVDunsmuir commences drilling on North West Lake, Michigan - February 25, 2005 4:00PM ET
Dunsmuir Ventures Ltd. ("Dunsmuir") announces
the immediate commencement of a diamond drill program at its North West Lake
project in northern Michigan.
North West Lake is located in Marquette County within Michigan's Upper
Peninsular and consists of a strong coincident airborne magnetic and gravity
anomaly identified by BHP Minerals International Explorations Inc. ("BHP
Minerals") during a regional airborne survey for base metals.
The area is underlain by undivided Precambrian granitic and gneissic
rocks, and is located approximately 30 km south of Kennecott's recent Eagle
Ni-Cu discovery. Eagle contains an estimated 5Mt (at) 3.7% Ni and 3.1% Cu and
is also reported to be a coincident magnetic and gravity anomaly.
Dunsmuir is earning a 51% interest in the North West Lake property from
BHP Minerals by spending US$640,000 by January 17, 2006, of which US$160,000
must be spent by April 17, 2005. Under the terms of the agreement, once
Dunsmuir spends US$640,000 on the property, BHP Minerals has certain staged
back-in options, which if all exercised, would leave Dunsmuir with a 30%
carried interest through production on the property.
Dunsmuir has obtained the necessary governmental approvals to allow for a
short drill program to test this easily accessible geophysical anomaly.
Drilling should be complete by mid-March 2005 and assay results will be
reported at the completion of the programme.
