RE: A real perspective on WND and wind powerEven though windhomo can't be topped...there may be two more reasons why WND will be successful. First off, they have paid top dollar to ensure that they are first in the queue for tranmsisson. And they have tied up the best wind land in Tehachapi, Kingman, St. Johns AZ, and New Brunswick. In Tehachapi, for example...WND has bought so much quality land...that anyone who wants to get in the game there has to go to inferior sites...with nowhere near the profitibility. The same is true with Kingman and St. Johns (the New Brunswick site is tapped out...but we are looking for more in the region).
The combination of those two things (transmission and land), come close to locking out competition in the regions. Any other wind developer gets sloppy seconds. And in addition, transmission runs right through the sites...no need to build long tielines or $1 billion underwater cables (SBX). This stuff is verifiable and I encourage you guys to research it.
