Altius Minerals Corp T.ALS

Alternate Symbol(s):  ATUSF

Altius Minerals Corporation is focused on growing its royalty business through prospect generation and the creation and acquisition of royalties. It diversified mineral royalties from 11 operating mines located in Canada (nine) and Brazil (two) that produce copper, nickel, cobalt, lithium, potash and iron ore. Its segments include Mineral Royalties, Project Generation and Renewable Royalties. The Mineral Royalties consist of the acquisition and management of producing and development stage royalty and streaming interests. The Project Generation segment is engaged in acquisition and early-stage exploration of mineral resource properties with a goal of vending the properties to third parties in exchange for early-stage royalties and minority equity or project interests. The Renewable Royalties segment includes a majority interest holding in publicly traded Altius Renewable Royalties Corp., which is focused on the acquisition and management of renewable energy investments and royalties.

Casey says Buy Altius

Casey says Buy AltiusCasey says buy Altius and let the news do all the work 2005-04-11 20:03 ET - In the News Douglas Casey, writing in the April 1, 2005, issue of his International Speculator, refreshes his latest buy of Altius Minerals Corp. at $3.65. Mr. Casey said buy three times between September, 2001, and April, 2004, at prices from 51 cents to $3.44. An investment of $1,000 each time would be worth $9,990 today. Mr. Casey says Altius's most recent move was to sell the Rambler copper-gold project in Newfoundland to Rambler Mines Ltd., which is working on a London listing. That listing should finance Rambler with the equivalent of about $18.5-million and leave Altius holding about one-third of the new company. Altius has confirmed continuity of the mineralization, and found more at depth. The company hopes for a relatively short path to renewed production. Altius is an exploration company, not a mining company, hence the spinoff. The next phase of exploration will include 28,000 metres of drilling. In other news, a geophysics crew is heading up to Labrador to do more work on the Michikimau nickel project, a joint venture with Teck. Mr. Casey says Altius has several projects approaching the end of their exploration cycles, "so expect a steady flow of news that could propel the stock much higher.
