MONTREAL -- Flight simulator firm CAE Inc. said Tuesday it has been awarded two contracts worth a total of $17 million over five years to provide flight training to two U.S. customers, one of them the country's airline regulator.
CAE will provide training to more than 150 pilots from the Federal Aviation Administration's Aviation System Standards branch on business aircraft, including the King Air 300, the Hawker 800, the Bombardier Challenger 601 and 604, and the Bombardier Learjet 60.
Training will take place at the CAE SimuFlite and Bombardier training centres in Dallas, Texas, over five years.
The Montreal-based company said it has also been chosen by Philadelphia-based USA 3000 Airlines to provide training on Airbus A320 aircraft at a number of different North American locations within its network of joint Airbus-CAE training centres.
``These two new contracts speak volumes about CAE's unique ability to offer a wide range of services to all segments of the aviation market, from commercial airlines to business aircraft operators,'' said Jeff Roberts, CAE president of civil training and services.
