CIRB reasons for overturning binding arbitration/Stay hearing to be held Friday.
Today, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) released its reasons for overturning the order for TELUS to offer the Union binding arbitration. The document is 76 pages long. The TWU is analyzing it with our lawyers this afternoon.
On Friday at 9:00 a.m., the Federal Court of Appeal will hold a hearing by video-conference on the TWU's request for an injunction to block the lockout measures. The Union is seeking a Stay of the CIRB decision that overturned the binding arbitration order. If the Stay is granted, it will temporarily block TELUS' lockout measures against the Union until a decision is rendered from the Judicial Review of binding arbitration and other issues, which will be held on May 31 and June 1.
