RE: TELUS Has The Right

RE: TELUS Has The RightPondBoy you have made a very significant finding indeed! It would now appear, contrary to my initial reaction and dismay about the recent actions taken by Telus, that they have actually laid out and have been implementing a well thought out plan to publically present their proposal directly to the TWU workers thus bypassing what they characterized as the ''impasse'' in their fruitless negotiating efforts with the TWU exectutive. You also mentioned that the TWU should try to email their contract proposal directly to the Telus managers. Question I would have with this is does the TWU actually have any contract proposals that they have presented to Telus at the bargaining table which you are aware off, other than retaining the existing old BCTEL contract language? The reason I ask is that normally unions do not take a proactive approach and start suggesting contract language to the company executives. Rather they typically expect and wait to see what the company is willing to offer first and only then will the union let the company know what they think of the company proposals.
