IDC AND MICROSPACE WILL PARTNER TO PROVIDE DISTANCE LEARNING AND OTHER MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS ACROSS THE US
Raleigh, NC, April 26, 2005 – Microspace Communications Corporation (Microspace), the leading provider of point-to-multipoint satellite services, today announced a partnership with International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) to offer an affordable and comprehensive content delivery solution for distance learning applications. Based on its VELOCITY® service and IDC's Datacast XD platform and the SuperFlex DVB product line, the solution will provide customers with faster technology implementation and efficiency at a reduced deployment cost. IDC, based in Ottawa, Canada, is a leading provider of end-to-end applications solutions utilizing advanced products for reliable multicasting systems and broadband multimedia content delivery.

Microspace has installed IDC's Datacast XD platform in their Network Operations Center, which enables seamless integration with VELOCITY and provides customers with a simple direct content delivery solution. Microspace's VELOCITY content delivery service supports the IDC infrastructure and allows the companies to work together to demonstrate and deploy IDC's leading edge technologies in a cost-effective manner. IDC will provide VELOCITY users with its SuperFlex satellite receiver appliances which offer advanced features including integrated web server, hard drive, and multimedia outputs.
The Microspace / IDC partnership aims to leverage the two companies' extensive applications experience which includes Internet connectivity, enterprise networks, broadcast radio networks, syndicated television content delivery, digital signage, digital cinema and financial and news content distribution.
