What's Important?
What's Important?Nothing posted on this board during the past year and one half has any real meaning unless posted by someone legally employed by the company. People claiming to have talked to someone or received an Email from someone could be true or could be false. There are only two things that have any real significance.
1. What has the company released publically that could affect the share price?
2. What has the company failed to release publically that could affect the share price?
The company can be held legally responsible for these two items above. If they released anything that was false regarding major developments or if they withheld anything regarding major developments they are responsible and could be sued by the shareholders.
This would include things like stating they were going to drill 12 wells in rapid succession and then suddenly stoping all drilling (this happened about one month before the rains started) without releasing any information about an abrupt change of plans. It would also cover things like releasing information about negotiating for a pipeline in Michigan and then dropping these negotiations without disclosing that information. Also releasing information about a tight hole status to convince shareholders that they were expecting a big hit and then failing to release any information about what actually happened.
I don't know what the company has or has not done. Someone would have to take the press releases one by one to determine if shareholders were misled. As far as what information was withheld, it would take a law suit to find out.
As for Cotter's intentions, I'm not sure. Right now his 3 million shares are not worth much. If he were to try to cash them in the share price would probably drop to a penny and his take would be negliable. His only hope is to get the share price up to a reasonable level so I doubt if he has done anything to drive the share price down.
Only time will tell.
