Ressources Appalaches recommences drilling at Mont-de-l'Aigle
RIMOUSKI, June 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Ressources Appalaches has recommenced
exploration at Mont-de-l'Aigle with a three-hole drill program. Prior drilling
has outlined the presence of copper-mineralized zones up to 60 metres thick,
but with insufficiently high grades (0.2%) to consider a production study. The
three new drill holes are planned to test for the presence of copper-enriched
zones (over 1% or 2% Cu).
Of the 22 targets identified in 2004, only 8 have been drilled. The final
interpretation of the Titan 24 geophysical survey in March 2005 concluded that
two of the earlier drill holes were not drilled deep enough to intercept the
geophysical anomalies. These two drill holes will be deepened to penetrate the
projected mineralized zones.
The first drill hole (F05-1) will deepen an old hole by 200 metres to a
total depth of 400 metres. This drill hole contains well mineralized zones
above 200 metres and has not yet attained its principal target.
The second drill hole (F05-2) will deepen an other old hole to a total
depth of 350 metres to confirm the extension of a known 900 metre long
anomaly.
A new 200 metre deep hole (F05-3) will be drilled to confirm the upper
part of a strong geophysical anomaly that extends to a depth of 600 metres
over a strike length of 1.2 Kms.
