RE: Negotiation is the keySo let me get this straight.
You and the TWU continually complain about Telus not bargaining in good faith.
Now why do you suppose that Telus has resorted to making their offers public?
They have stated that they have no choice since the TWU have for over 4 1/2 years refused to consider opening up for discussion the existing language of the current BCTEL contract in the key areas requested by Telus - such as contracting out.
So I suppose you would call this refusal by your TWU to discuss making any meaningful changes to the current contracting out language as bargaining in good faith?
Thus you are correct in your observation ''there really is no point in discussing this issue with you further''
And THAT is exactly the same conclusion that Telus has come to.
So THAT is why Telus has had to go public to try to get some movement and response from the workers themselves since it is obvious that the TWU is still not ready to seriously negotiate in good faith.
They likely continue to aspire to an arbitrated settlement rather than do it face to face at the negotiating table with Telus.
