It also holds an interest in Atlas Salt Inc., which is carrying out a feasibility analysis on its Great Atlantic salt deposit in western Newfoundland, strategically located in the robust road de-icing market of eastern North America.

Vulcan's drill rig arriving on West CoastI heard a news clip on VOCM Radio today mentioning Vulcan's upcoming drill program, and the arrival of several tractor-trailer loads of rig equipment to the Bay St. George drill site.In the news clip Mr. Laracy indicated that the rig is beginning to arrive and that Vulcan should be geared up for drilling within about two weeks. Below is a brief article carried on the VOCM website: New Rig for Oil Company July 2, 2005 Newfoundland based Vulcan Minerals has bought a new drilling rig. President Patrick Laracy says the new equipment is now enroute to Western Newfoundland. Laracy says once the rig arrives, drilling will begin in the Bay St. George Basin. He says the rig is expected to arrive early next week.
