"Mitsubishi Development Pty's vice president -- business development, Greg Cochran, says the company has been talking to Energy Resources Co about the latter's Tavan Tolgoi coal deposit in Mongolia's South Gobi region. Energy Resources has also spoken to the BHP Billiton group and Cia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) about the project. Mr Cochran notes that Mitsubishi is interested in other opportunities in Mongolia, including those in base metals. CVRD is investigating Tavan Tolgoi in partnership with Itochu Corp.
