RE: Oldstocker1a's comments
RE: Oldstocker1a's commentsI was in Calgary over the weekend to attend a family meeting. I took the time out to vist 3 RONA stores. Two were big box stores: one on MacLeod Trail, one smaller store near Signal Hill and anothre big box store on Crowchild in the north west section of Calgary. I also visited Home Depot across from the Chinook Centre. Here is what I found:
MacLeod Trail Rona: Very well stocked and well displayed. I talked to the commercial service lady (Linda) who was very enthusiastic about Rona. The store was very busy and had lots of staff. I would rate this as a 4 star store.
Home Depot: Just up the road from RONA seemed to be a bit samller, the isles were very narrow compared to the wide ones at RONA. There was a lot of clutter around the bathroom and kitchen area with discounted damaged freight blocking off half the aisles. The appearance was not as attractive or pleasant as RONA's. On the otherhand, I've been to nice Home Depot stores here in Vancouver. I would give it 3 stars.
Signal Hill RONA: This is a smaller store not in the same league as Home Depot or the big box RONAs. I found it less attractive than the MacLeod Trail store and certainly wasn't as busy. I would only rate this store with one star.
Crowchild RONA: This store was just as busy as the MacLeod store and even more attractive to visit. The aisles were roomy with lots of room to navigate. A 5 star store in my opinion.
I ceratinly didn't find anything derogatory with the RONAs. In fact it encouraged me to keep my investment and buy more if it drops.
For what it's worth, these are my opinions.
