You indicated that most Canadian companies follow US GAAP - I assume that you are speaking of Canadian pharma companies? I don't understand how the decision to use U.S. GAAP vs. Canadian can be so arbirtrary. For comparables purposes I would think that they would want to follow US GAAP to allow a comparision to US contract manufacturers. But they are a Canadian company after all. So is it 'simply' a matter of whichever you choose is ok, just as long as you disclose it?!
