Shorts

ShortsSleepy - I don't deal in "shorts" - I guess I just find it difficult to bet that a company will do poorly when my other investments are made for the opposite reason. There may not be a rational answer to your question as to what the short sellers "see" as a reason to sell when prospects look quite positive. Short selling might just be the extreme example of people who see downside where others see the opposite. When you think about it, that is at the heart of every daily trade isn't it? Today's buyers at $1.60 see upside while the sellers, at least some of them, don't see the same picture. I like an expression I read on one of these boards a few years back which I paraphrase as "When I am buying and you are selling we are momentarily agreeing on price while disagreeing on long term value." That seems to sum up trading in general and short selling as well.
