Sunrise Minerals appoints Metcalfe as VP of exploration 2006-03-14 13:24 ET - News Release Mr. Ari Sussman reports SUNRISE MINERALS HIRES VICE PRESIDENT OF EXPLORATION Sunrise Minerals Ltd. has appointed Dr. Paul Metcalfe as vice-president of exploration of the company. He brings over 25 years of mining exploration experience encompassing epithermal gold, transitional/mesothermal gold, intrusion-related gold, porphyry copper-gold and magmatic nickel-copper deposit types. Dr. Metcalfe's role will be to work in conjunction with Gerry Rayner, special adviser to the Sunrise board of directors, to develop and implement an exploration program on Sunrise's extensive portfolio of hydrothermal gold and IOCG properties in Baja, Mexico. Dr. Metcalfe holds a BSc in geology (honours) from the University of Durham, United Kingdom, an MSc from the University of Manitoba and a PhD from the University of Alberta. Dr. Metcalfe's postdoctoral research was carried out with the mineral deposit research unit at the University of British Columbia and with the Geological Survey of Canada. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. "Sunrise is fortunate to have attracted Paul to our team," said Ari Sussman, chief executive officer. "We will no doubt benefit from his guidance as we aggressively explore in Baja this year."
