Acadian Mining Corporation > Why the selling?

Why the selling?

Let me count the reasons. This is dead money and has been for a long time. I hold 400,000 shares and am growing increasingly impatient. Perhaps eventually the gold deposits will be reflected in the share price; however, with the current 5,000,000 float, it's difficult to envision how this can happen any time soon, and, if and when it does happen, how the share price can appreciate significantly.

The company needs to stop dithering and become more focused. To begin, dump the entire Royal Roads arrangement (as relatively insignificant as it is). Why are we dabbling in another base metals deposit in Newfoundland when we can't even access the base-metal holdings in our own back yard? Further, dump the barite deposits. Because of serious cost constraints, the company simply cannot afford to develop them, period. Further, to my knowledge, the company doesn't even have a  plan to develop them. They are a dead asset. They need to direct whatever funds can be realized from a sale of the barite holdings either  toward the  development of  Beaver Lake OR toward a share buyback, an effort to reduce the obscenely large amount of paper that is overhanging and sinking this stock.

Let's get focused. Let's shake things up. Get on with the GOLD! Clip the periphery.

Re my last, the float is of course 500,000,000 (ouch) and not 5,000,000 -- which only magnifies the severity of the problem one-hundred fold.

You mean shares outstanding as opposed to float?  Most of those 500 million shares are locked up in the hands of the new shareholder and management.I like your idea to focus on their main business. I think it's not being done because of conflicts due to cross ownership of shares held by Will, Terry etc, in both companies.  If it all works out in the end noone will mind but for now it ...more

CE, A few thoughts. 1) The worst thing about the large number of shares is what it tells you about past management'[s stewardship of the financial resources rasied previously in the capital markets. 2) A reverse split is probably the way to go if they want to return to the capital markets to raise money, since many sources will not consider a stock trading under a ...more
