JA

you are one of the sharper guys on these boards....nice to have you here. Been here too long myself as a former newsletter reader of L Roulston *&%^ who pumped this company to extreme.   The Legacy MGT IMO is quite competent in technically being able to run a mine and day to day operations but failed miserably in the planning and fiscal end.
One major booboo was buying back shares left and right  then the next day having a PP because they were out of cash at a much lower level??...yes the new management needs to sweep theseboys out or at least down the latter and start putting all these pieces together to make a pretty puzzle...complicated but doable and all is cheap right now...GL

I wonder what Roulston is saying these days about Acadian?  McCoach was another one. Those buy-back/private placement combos were so sloppy.  Buy high then sell low = ?  It is true that they could oversee the daily running of the future mines, drilling, and listed company filings.

I've been a shareholder since late 2006, and was unaware of any share buy-backs throught that time-period.  When and in what amounts did the share-buy-backs occur?  Could someone point me to a filing that details them?  The PP's I know all about, it's the buy-backs that are news to me...TIA & GL all

Are you sure you're not confusing Acadian with some other company?  I really don't think the company has ever done any share buy-backs.I have no criticism of (old) management, the company's fortunes were tied directly to the price of zinc & lead, and no one else was any better prepared for the collapse from over $2 to under 50 cents.  Management at the majors fared no ...more

R, Thanks for the kind words.   I try to give what I perceive as the straight scoop with a little humor/scorn/poetry as it seems to be justified;  and sometimes what I perceive  as good leads for others to do DD if interested, put never a pump.  I've followed Doug Casey for about 12 years and find company evaluation by his P system very useful with the first and ...more

I've held this stock for a while now.  There was actually a point where a very small amount of shares were bought back.  It was at the same time they were trying to spin out the gold assests, and since that did not materialize and then they started getting into a cash crunch, that strategy did not last long.

No, I think you are mistaken. I've followed this company for many years, and I don't believe there have EVER been any shares re-purchased by the company.  Not particularly important at this stage, but if people feel they need to criticize management for mis-steps in the past, they should be sure they have their facts straight.  There was never a share buyback followed by a ...more

Shares were repurchased on an almost daily basis (was disclosed on Canadianinsider.com)after feb 08 after stock dropped from >1$.  I applauded as they were buying a stock in the ..50's that  I felt was worth much more...until they ran out of money... *&&&*%$*&..in any case on board with you all ...lets see what the Wizard of OZ can do for us here..GLTrading ...more

My apologies, they did indeed purchase a few shares (to the tune of 81 grand, and the shares were around 70 cents during that period, so perhaps 110, 000 or so) in early '08.  Had forgotten about that little episode.  Cheers & GL all
