This is far from a slam dunk for Armtec. The product that is being sold here is Durisol Wall that Armtec bought back in the 2008 just as the patent was running out. The product is a great product and performs very well where installed. The issue is prior to being purchased by Armtec Durisol had been virtually sole sourced enjoying the protection of its patent. This is no longer the case and other precasters can make this product. All that is required is the form work and facilities that allow wood chips to be added to the concrete mix. Good try boys but A) you don't have a PO and B) other companies are chasing this contract and they have strong vertical industry alliances that see them win jobs based on strategic partnerships. A game that Armtec can't play. More Spin more vague drivel from the captain and crew of a severely disabled vessel. Day is done......

A) They don't need a PO. They can't announce that they have been selected if they are not the winning bidder. In contracts law these days PO's are no longer required, once you have something in writing the deal is pretty much done aside fom negotiations so if anything some terms and conditions will be hammered out. Prices are usually not negotiable, this tells me Armtec was the lowest ...more

Read the fine print.  Funny Armtec was so good at winning the TTC Spadina bid that they were banned from bidding any other TTC work until the finished.  They are not big hitters at all.  How does Munro Concrete supply the Girders for the YYZ airport sky train and precon can't??  How does Munro get TTC Eglinton when Armtec is doing Spadina.  Armtec is a facade.   ...more
