agreed on all counts and its frustrating no doubt. Then again what can you do when folks bring it down. Maybe selling it to their other accounts at lower price. Who knows.  Hopefully management delivers.

I am curious if this has anything to do with the hurricane.  I can't tell for certain which of their partners might have been affected, but could possibly be C&C and DNT as they appear to have operations in that area.  Wonder if any of their other partners have operations in Texas/Louisiana.

And apologies in advance for my ignorance...I am just drawing straws as to what the cause of the price drop might be.  I've been trying to find news and even tried contacting Investor Relations, but there's been no word.  Some sort of statement from the company on a day when most stocks are green would be appreciated.

I just heard back from IR via email and it looks like the drop is due to a short report from a Toronto Fund manager.

Thanks for the info gkarver. Would it be possible to post the email from IR ?

Apologies, gvixid, but I am not sure it is kosher to post the email without first getting permission from Curtis.  Perhaps give the company a call or send him an email as I did. Cheers, GK

I'd rather see the short report from the Toronto fund to see if there's anything actually earth shattering in it or just the usual bs. Would be nice if the company could close a large transaction now and blow up the shorts.

That would explain the sudden drop like that. Unfortunately, the laws are not enough to stop these short seller attacks even based on wrong data. And I am in the camp that no - in the current market we do not need them to keep companies fair because unfortunately, there is no accountability if the information is wrong. These folks make money - hurt existing shareholders and then go chase other ...more

GK, probably just month end re-balancing (window dressing); one fund deciding to exit a position. Most of the selling appeared to be coming from Anonymouse. A couple of months ago, I had the opposite occur with a U.S. stock - buying started in the morning and continued all day, with the price up about 20% on the close.  No news,no rumours, and the gain was reversed over the following week ...more

This equity is very volatile. This is not the first time that has such kind of movement. Today is the top of last 52 weeks. The other volatile date was Aug 3 this year down $1.72 (7.8%) to $20.58 and the volume was 472K shares which is higher than today's 345K. If you consider someone who could push down $1.72 and bought back at the low level, it would not be a bad trade to sell it at $21.76 ...more
