Recession or slow growth in 2019-2020 and Alaris Strategy

Hi all. I’m a holder of Alaris for some time now. I like the business. But storm clouds are forming on the macro economic horizon. Many analysts are recommending to raise cash, play a little defence into 2019 and 2020. Some are using the “R” word too. (Recession). May I have your opinion please on this statement:

When was the last time the US paid net debt? Are you implying they'll suddenly raise taxes? If not, then it has no bearings on the economy. That's not sound math either. As to recession, it usually happen when demand goes down and isn't overcompensated by rising offer. So far, demand has stayed strong.
