So Public trust?

I am new to this concept, how would I trade my shares once this happens? Would it still be like normal in my trading account?

No change. AD shares will disappear and be replaced by AD.UN units. So no change in trading mechanism.

From the trading perspective, AD.UN can be traded as any dividend based shares. However, the tax implication will be different. It may be too early to say, if the distribution is return of captical partial or total, then the distribution may not have to pay any tax for the return of capital portion until you sell. The returned capital will be used to reduce the cost base. More work to keep track ...more

Agreed ckwong! Without knowing the composition of the distribution, it is impossible to compare apples and oranges. If the distribution is 100% Foreign Income that will be terrible (in a non registered account); if it is 100% Eligible Dividend that would be the same as the current AD dividend; if it is 100% Return of Capital that would be great.
