Unifooooooour

Unifor is Canada’s largest private sector union, with more than 315,000 members across the country, working in every major sector of the Canadian economy.

Unifor brings a modern approach to unionism: adopting new tools, involving and engaging our members, and always looking for new ways to develop the role and approach of our union to meet the demands of the 21st century.

Every person of working age in Canada has a right to a good job and the benefits of economic progress.

Well well well...

To everyone who downplayed this company and asked where its going to sell its products. Le voilla.

"This is a landmark agreement, with a union and a medical cannabis company coming together to provide dedicated support through medical marijuana clinics across the country while challenging the stigmas associated with cannabis,"

I mean, I've never been one to complain about drug coverage, but since getting it in my benefits its been absolutely wonderful. Wonder if I can get a med license now??

Papa wants to try him some of that Afgan BullRider.

What was our average sales price per gram for medical again? $7.91? 315,000 members are going to need alot of pot. Even if only 1/8th of them take advantage of this. thats 39,375. How many grams are usually prescribed per day to a patient? Dr Rad Paul? Anyone? Thought I remember seeing 3.5 or higher in most cases?

Das alot of money.

Lets do some imaginary napkin math.

315,000 x 1/8 = 39,375 x 3.5 = 137812.5 x $7.91 = 1,090,096.875/d

heck, thats in a day... Okay okay. Lets be even more conservative.
Lets say its only 1/16 that take advantage of this. Thats 19,687.5. and lets say they only get prescribed a gram a day. Thats $155,728.125 a day in medical sales. X 365 = $ 56,840,765.625...

Das alot of money for a company growing at ten cents a gram. Not to mention this would cut cost of sales in half.

"This is a significant moment for the cannabis industry, and an important breakthrough for medical cannabis accessibility in Canada. Every day, our team of medical professionals see the benefits of cannabis in the lives of our patients,"

Who's going to pay for the medicinal marijuana? Unions don't possess any capital, so again, where's the money coming from?

Nam, stick to your gut feeling entries.  You do know that in the last contract that was just signed last month they approved $500/member?  That is $500 for the member and another $500 in coverage for the spouse.  Medical marijuana.  What are you not understanding about this?  Exclusivity will be the key.  With that it is game on.  They are not brokering ...more

Are you really still trying this game? Tracker, do you see this guy? Oldschool? Unions are the representative body for its members. As you well know, they do the collective bargaining for the group. Any insurance company (with money) that doesnt want a full suite deal with the biggest private union in Canada must hate money. Therefore (now follow me here) any insurance company that would like the ...more

Toweringmars, now you're opening up a whole new ball of wax. Negotiations between UNIFOR and an insurance company is more apt to happen, since the Insurance company would also benefit from such a deal. Insurance companies reap their rewards by members of the unions paying insurance premiums, and Unions members would reap the benefits of having access to whatever is being negotiated by the ...more

That is exactly what I said, UNIFOR negotiating with the insurance companies. Kind of like they said in the release... Like first paragraph "Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union and Aleafia Health Inc. (TSX: AH, OTC: ALEAF), have entered a long term partnership that through collective bargaining will seek to provide access for its members to medical cannabis coverage as part of ...more
