Opting out of hydrogen fuel cells

https://www.caradvice.com.au/641666/kia-ditches-hybrid-straight-to-pure-electric-from-2021/

I feel this warranted posting as my view was that one of the bigger risks to PLS was the adoption of hydrogen fuel cells, instead of lithium batteries for cars.  In short, Hyundai/Kia were arguably the leaders in the field and pushing for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles over lithium battery powered EVs.  This could've curtailed the lithium demand had the industry decided fuel cells were worth pursuing but Hyundai/Kia have now moved over to lithium.

“They were, we were incredibly advanced in fuel-cell technology but there was a shift in Korea probably six to eight months ago where EVs tended to take over and we think in the medium term that’s the best way to go,” - Kia Australia COO referencing Hyundai and Kia's hydrogen fuel cell development.

Excellent news in my view, reducing risk for PLS and the lithium industry in general.
