I could see Agnico going after Alexandria and or Evrim's Cuale deposit. Kirkland Lake is a possibility also. Forget Probe. It's an overvalued sideshow. GLTAL

mystique1 - Agreed.  AEM would be a much better fit than Probe for a host of reasons. Since AEM has a substantial share of and interest in AZX, a merger or buy-out with/by AEM would not surprise me a bit. And it would certainly be a shot in the arm for shareholders IMHO.

Hey shylock  --  good to see you posting more regularly.  Yup, AEM would certainly be a logical choice.  However, I would give PRB the edge for five main reasons: 1.  Politics  --  Probe has the advantage here in that I don't think AEM would much want PRB to earn up to a 70% interest of the eastern 1/3 of alexandria's Cadillac Break Property.   ...more

Nice analysis GO. I agree that PRB initially jumped at the chance with a buyout of AZX. However I believe with change of language of the BoD on the last NR, Agnico has now looked at the situation full scope. This now looks like a consolidation. It now makes sense why the meeting date has been placed with enough time to work it out and why EO is now silent as the big boys have stepped in. JMO.

PRB will be fine on the first 4 points....I think Dave P is patient enough to Research, Drill Cadillac Break....got about 14 km....no worries....if it's there Dave P will find it. Could be May 2019 before preliminary drilling results show up anything....and then they will need a strategy to prove up a resource about 7 million in spend. So I think this could draw out a bit 1.5 years +...and ...more

Why AEM..... .....Excellent Management .....Well financed. Currently has revenue from Canada's largest gold mine (Cdn. Malartic in Val D'or) .....Currently operates OPEN PIT MINE and Plant....Similar to what Azx's Cadillac Breaks will be/require. .....Familiar with required permitting, etc. .....Existing 8% shareholder of AZX. tired fingers

BTG1 said: "As for point 5.  I think the board and insiders might be on black-out  & unable to buy shares since they consistently have cores at the Lab !   This is typical of aggressive juniors...always lots of drill cores.  To avoid the appearance of insider knowledge...black-out is done." Good point.......I hadn't thought about that.   Btw, I ...more

goldopp - Speculation it may be but logical and possible would also fit the bill. I greatly enjoy and appreciate your well-considered posts. We shall see what happens with Alexandria and Probe in due time. GLTA in the meantime.
