Summary of phone call with Phil Berthelot

Yesterday, I had an appointment call with Phil, the vp of exploration in val d'or. First, he speaks french, for the quebec investors who needs information. I prepared a couples questions for him. He's very neutral. I never feel at any moment that he was suggesting me to vote for a side or another. So here's the summary: Drill resulst from the missing hole from.the summer drill program are still pending. The have'nt been sent to the lab yet. 6500 samples are pending. NI-43 shoud be fill the week or before july 24 Aem (5M) and european investors are still intereted for a PP. No rollback in the plans for now ( they need a spectacular news realese to support the rollback and it's not the case right now). They know pretty well that the share price is gonna collapse right after. Manitoba property ( non-core assets) worth at least 7-8 millions $$ each They could accelerate the deal with Probe for the cadillac break to get money to drill. ImG and teck will not manifest publicly their support to any side. If there's a fire sale from theboard, sharrholders will have the final word. It's gonna require another vote.

Newrookie, That's nice reporting, lots of useful info. Thanks. - Philippe Berthelot came to AZX with a good background. At least, we have him there to provide the continuity/stability, as a senior person, VP in charge of Exploration. He might be a suitable candidate as an Interim CEO. - I would expect that the Technical Report NI-43-101) to be filed before the Special Meeting so that ...more

GH, According to Mr Berthelot, Agnico was involved in the $20M PP with $5M. According to him, they are still interested for PP, same for european investors. But that time, he did'nt provide me any numbers. I asked him what will be the total outstanding shares after financing and he said something around 700M 750M shares at least. Agnico don't really want an intermediate ( fire sale to ...more

Newrookie, Merci! Thanks very much for your explanation. I made a guess before your reply with two examples. - It's quite natural for AEM to participate in any financing at this price level. First, to protect their interest in the Val d'Or area, and second the price level is just too hard to resist. It would seem that ES and others including Sprott Inc. did not like the idea of AEM ...more

Hey GH  --  good analysis of the whole situation, and the players involved.   Yup, as you said there probably are a lot of negotiations going on behind the scenes.  Oh, to be a fly on the wall. The whole thingy looks complicated and potentially messy.  Makes me kinda wonder what's to stop one entity (insider or out) from just going ahead and making a "hostile" ...more

goldopp, Last time I look, Canada still is a free country, hence there would be nothing that would stop a "hostile" TO of AZX, as long as it  would be complied with the rules. How hostile you want it to be, meaning how outrageous the offer has to be to persuade some key players and some die-hard investors? Just name the price for the sake of argument: 0.06, 0.09, 0.12? (How about $0 ...more

Hey GH -- tks for your reply.  Your rationale makes sense, especially "if this hostile act will create a bidding war."  I beleve it was you who mentioned a few days ago that revised gold assay #s and/or RE #s may be released before the july 24th meeting.  I'm speculating that this could possibly be a tipping point for some entity to go "rogue" and make a buy ...more

Goldopp, It was not me who said a revised RE would be released before 24 July. It was reported by Newrookie from his phone conversation with the VP Exploration Philippe B. that the latest RE on Orenda (the one that we've all seen) will be filed (my interpretation) with SEDAR (the company has 45 days after the NR to finalize and file the RE in the form of an NI-43-101 Report). Nothing new on ...more

Hey GH  -- tks for clearing that up for me.  So we'll see what happens.  goldopp

Also to mentionned talk call was possible because of EO, How do i know that .... Newrookies his my friends and we share infos. YOU ALL COULD SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT HIM ( EO) but at least he try and put us in contact with neutral person. That is not mean we will voted for him at this moment

Newrookie, In my previous reply I forgot one point. You said: "Aem (5M) and european investors are still intereted for a PP." - First, which PP are we talking about, AEM would participate in any PP arranged by anyside in the future, and you were not referring to the so-called $20M Financing arranged by EO? - Second, If 5M is $5M then AEM share is a large percentage $5M/$20M = 25% which ...more

While waiting for Newrookie elaboration/confirmation on what he said in his post: "Aem (5M) and european investors are still intereted for a PP." and rethink a bit about my second point. It's a large piece of pie for AEM, but considering what AEM has been invested in AZX, the 5M (i.e. $5M) make  more sense. OK then, so AEM wants to "double down", as it appears not to ...more
