new 5yr supercycle in lumber?

Just heard on the radio that some analysts who are 'experts' in the lumber industry are predicting a new supercycle of 5 yrs.....due to increased demand in the US, a reduction of lumber supply in Canada  (due to the pine beetle disease and reductions in production in Que and elsewhere) and increased demand from Asia.....has anyone seen an article on this topic? I would like to get more info on this story....sounds like very good news for ans.

Dave I have CFP and ADN, any opinion? In your list I only have ETR ANS which I bought recently. I bought ANS late so not sure the record date for warrants, may have missed it, bought just before the price spike down, ouch. TMB is also in pulp, does not seem like a pure play for lumber. How about NBD for oriented strain board? Thanks. Kevin

hi kevin,   record date nov 22 for the rights.  you get them as long as you own shares on or before that date.  ( i think taking into 3 day rule so trade is completed) if one bought after that date you still get them, but, if you sold common after that date up to before they begin trading on dec 3 you give them up to the buyer......as per "due bills".  as of dec 3 and ...more

I bought on Nov 28, settlement on Dec 3, which is why I thought I was screwed. I am in Singapore on a visit to my sister. Why are you up so early? Thanks for the reply. I was in TMB 2 years ago with the pulp cycle at Chen Lin's recommentation. I think pulp cycle is over, as Chile mills are back in operations, China mills are running, and newsprint demand seem to be in decline though toilet ...more

since my nose started bothering me, i wake up a lot all blocked up for years now, therefore, i walk it off or just start up the computer early.  :)   now let see what the rules are for getting extra rights and/or shares.....if what has happened over last week or so is indicative of the confusion that was caused, no surprises about this process going bad????   ps.  sold a little ...more
