Future

With the prices of osb basically doubling towards the end of 2012 and us building contracts increasing and wonder if ANS would consider opening they,re idled mills? What a trading opportunity that would be.

I havent contacted ANS but i would assume they are working towards starting up the idled mill they bought 2 years ago. But i'm sure its alot of work to start it up. At the same time, i'm sure there are a few other mills that are trying to get a piece of the OSB hot market. Short term, everything looks fantanstic. Even the anaylsts are finally buckling under pressure and upgrading ANS ...more

Watch for everybody to start up idle mills.  Compared to a mine start up a mill should be easy.  How about labour availabilty?

Ainsworth has cut its work force dramatically since 2009. They have 6-700 employees out of 1500 in '09. I am thinking in NORTHERN BC good jobs would be filled quickly!

In the north the only people not working are those whodon't want to.  Such a demand for workers there is a employer sponsered training program in place in order to get people.   Tremendous shortage of skilled workers in the forest industry resulting from the bust cycle of 2008 / 2009.   Many workers have moved into oil / gas and mining industries.
