US Election & Mexico

I use to post years ago on the top MJ players. I have come out of retirement to give a shout out to any of those who are still around and new people. US election is going to be super exciting. For anyone who remembers when California vote to legalize the Canadian MJ sector blew up. I got shaken out because it made zero sense, Canadian companies couldn't sell across the border because its illegal federally. I eventually bought back in and sold like a bandit doing fairly good. I think my total return in MJ since Trudeau first got elected was something like 800%, which was great because I was using student debt. :D

This election should be very exciting. I have been waiting for *years*. If the democrats win they will push through legislation to de-criminalize. They pulled the MORE act back from a vote in Congress to wait to see if they win the Senate, then they can push it all the way through to ratify it. All the democrats need is to this election is keep Congress and win +4 seats in the Senate and they have it in the bag; or win +3 seats in the Senate and Biden wins oval office. If that happens, I expect the MJ market to go on a parabolic slide up.

Aphria is my main pick. I have been following their progress since I stopped trading, albiet, I actually bought back in near the lows in Spring of this year but let go too early because it was a scary time. Either way I am back in now and happy to buy at any price basically.

What my experience trading Canopy taught me is that you should 1. not try and trade this period; and 2. hold the stock until after a big pharma/tobacco/alcohol buys a big stake like constellation brands. They will run up the price big time, then retail buyers will buy in after and run it up to stupid heights like they did with Canopy. Thats the only way to time when to sell it in my opinion. Once those events have played out then you can try to do a little trading, but until then your giving it up at a potential discount. My expected sell price for Aphria is like $50-$100. Get the market cap to like 20-40 billion so its absolutely stupid then sell. Most people don't even know what a market cap is.

Good luck everyone. Go democrats! Go Biden! Make me some big time gains like Trudeau did for me!

PS watch for mexico legalization after the US sorts the election results. Could add a lot of fuel to the fire!

Happy investing/trading.

Wow a blast from the past. Welcome back FalconM. I think you and Starsearcher40 used to bump heads on the Canopy board lol....The Stockhouse boards were a great place to trade info and ideas but has degraded over time. I hope you stick around and if i remember correctly your technical analasys was above par. I still have shares in Canopy but since 2016 i have quadrupled my shares in Aphria ...more

great post. I am concerned Trump will do another term though. If that happens we are back to square one which would not be that great for us.

Historically, if a bill gets passed by both the Congress and the Senate the president will ratify it. I know that Trump is a wildcard on some issues, but I don't think he would block de-criminalization in the MORE act or similar bills. I think the last statistics I read held 60% of the American population in favor of decriminalization (although I don't care much for pollsters). Hence, the ...more
