US entry

What people fail to realize is no one has a US entry. It is federally illegal and until it gets removed as a schedule 1 substance all these companies grow facilities are second rate. Buying acreage, or anything else reminds me of when Canopy and Aurora burned billions buying dinosaur infrastructure prior to it going legal in Canada only to write off billions in assets. The best a company can hope for is to establish Brand awareness. Distribution is near impossible across most states, and once legal this landscape will change dramatically. One sign of a pen with Walgreens then a company like Aphria had the best distribution market in the country. 420 fest is a plus, 420 branded beer is a plus, Sweetwaters foot print is a plus. Patience is key, and when MMJ finally does go legal (fingers crossed in 2021) Aphria has the best infrastructure to execute and dominate the space. It is unfortunate that is stagnates the SP until December, but it is a good acquisition.

Okay. You know nothing. Acreage has over 90 licenses country wide. That is why Canopy is buying them. Aphria can sign with anyone they want but without a license they can't touch the plant in the US. Licenses are tough to get. Distribution is tough in a state by state market but not for a company that has national distribution like Biosteel and Constellation. Unbelievable how uninformed this ...more

BC use to have lots of dispensaries as well. Things will change post legalization and imo Acreage isn't worth the price it will cost to acquire. A1 and DD produce product at 70cents US a gram. They will be allowed to ship someday and all it will take will be one agreement with a multistate distributor currently not in the space to equal the dispensaries.

So now you got yourself caught. You said, "imo Acreage isn't worth the price it will cost to acquire." Please if you know, which you don't, what is the price to aquire Acreage? You said its not worth it so you must know. Or maybe you are just full of sh!t and have no clue about anything. We'll all wait right here for your answer.

Acerage now has to build a bottling line in California. Acreage has never produced a beverage. They picked the most Expensive State in the union to build a bottling line from scratch. Idiots
Comment by Homestretch4me on Nov 10, 2020 12:17pm
Again you show yourself to be intellectually inept. Acreage is building a bottling plant in Cali to access the largest market in the US. It wouldn't make sense to build the bottling plant in a neighboring state when you can't transport Cannabis across state lines now would it ding dong. California has roughly the same population as all of Canada. Do the math Einstein. Still don't ...more

Bro you keep saying the same point so elaborate if you're so right.  1) Canopy does not have the licenses yet, so how does that help now? 2) Send me a link the federal infrastructure saying licenses will be needed in the future Each state will have their own system upon legalization, some won't need licenses. Please elaborate
Comment by Homestretch4me on Nov 10, 2020 11:33am
Every single state that has legalized even though it's still illegal federally requires licenses for growing, harvesting, processing and selling. The licenses are a huge Revenue stream for the states and the federal government. You don't even make any sense.

BC had "legal" dispensaries for many many years even though it was federally legal. How many of these dispensaries are public? How many of these BC dispensaries are worth millions? Like you said, it brings in tremendous revenue for the province because they were regulated, paid tax and a huge revenue stream... However, once legal, government distribution took hold and will continue to ...more
