If you want to stick with the sector

Cashed out on Friday and loaded up on WEED. Of course one can argue if APHA drops it may drag the entire sector down, but my base case has been Aphria will need to do an offering pretty soon while Canopy doesn't. Plus, the chart of WEED looks more bullish than the APHA chart which def looks toppy. If you don't think this sector-wide rally is done and want to stay in the sector, WEED would be a better bet IMO.

Why would WEED need to do an offering???? Are you concerned about the bottling plant Acreage has to build in California next summer?
Comment by ilvmyt5s on Dec 07, 2020 12:50pm
I guess a simpler strategy would be for WEED to make a run for Aphria rather than build a bottling plant. That would push APHA way above $20.

You buy the best company and that is Aprhia. That is how it works.  Not sure how you see Aphria's chart as toppy and WEED as bullish. Pulling up charts and they look extremely similar.  Funny how you think the cash burning machine WEED is a better bet than profitable Aphria. Weird. Today's consolidation day is healthy and rolling out exactly like I said it would. Good luck to ...more

And...went to low $8/high $7 as I said, good entry point. I believe $7.98 is support for now. Agreed, charts are pretty much identical and Aphria the best !

Knowing Irwin, I would be really surprised if he didn't take advantage of this rally and do an offering. The current set-up would be ideal in that an offering at this price won't upset too many shareholders while a discount can still attract lots of institutions. As for the chart, I guess you guys who think the charts are "identical" don't like the doji? Cheers.

If an offering comes then it comes. That will help create a floor. This stock should have never been sub $10 in the first place. On my end I am seeing, CGC bearish pattern detected. Slow stochastic APHA bullish pattern detected. Intermediate term KST It is the stock market. Things change every day. I am going with what I feel is a better company with more forward potential. Not tied down to some ...more

Hi CCfD. Really enjoy the civil and informative convos here. This board is a treasure. That's why I don't have any APHA shares now but still hanging out here. :) I totally enjoyed the journey with Ms Aphria from $5.75 CAD to $11.25 CAD and my occasional switches for long to short and back made the journey even more exhilarating.  Aphria the company is better than Canopy. No ...more

But if you aren't invested- why the comments? Bye LeJames!

Fair enough. I can respect that. The APHA Call options are holding up bullishly today..Majority of what I am holding though is just common shares. Calls are just some additional rocket fuel. Calls are holding bullishly firm today. On a different note. I think the bear leg of gold and silver should now be over. A big bull move today for both. Bought a few First Majestic 2023 Calls on Thursday last ...more

Great minds think alike CCfD. I built a significant long in K over the correction and sold 50% this morning. GC will probably consolidate a bit around $1870 and then resume the surge. Cheers

LeJames has a need to be noticed! When someone hangs all of their information on Stockhouse they have a very low self-esteem! Please move to Facebook or some other social media to get your warm fuzzies!

Doesn't a person who's afraid of others discussing(not dissing) the stock he/she owns on social media has even lower self-esteem? Anyway, Aphria is a great company. Seems to me an offering can happen any minute now so some caution would be in order. Enjoy the ride.

Let's not categorically shoot the idea down. We know Simon is fielding calls of people wanting to partner to APHA now. Depends on the price though... If someone wants to buy stakes in APHA for $20 a pop let's F'ing go here boys!!! $8.50 a piece though... get out of my face...

WEED needs to catch up to APHA. It's not the charts. They probably will do a raise after their U.S. edibles product line expansion announcement which will make APHA more attractive.
