Does APHA stock price even matter?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but once we merge with Tilray and get 0.8381 shares for every 1 Aphria share we own, doesn't it only matter what the Tilray stock price is on the merger confirmed date or am I missing something?

Ok, another dumb question if one share of aphria (15$) equals 0,8381 shares of tlry (0,8381 x 23,49 = 19,68), does this mean by purchasing aphria, im purchasing tlry at a significant discount (-4,68$), provided the merger goes through ?

I think so, but lets keep in mind once the merger happens, that the book value and speculative value of it being the #1 MJ producer with so many agreements in place; will inevitable have a sharp rise. Even more so if both APH and TLRAY release profitable quartes before the merger and reduced expenditures. USA Federal decriminalization is the ultimate catalyst here I believe.

Thanks for your reply. How would Federal decriminilaztion affect the Tilray or Aphria business? Will that allow them to sell bud and products to all the States that have currently legalized cannabis for medical and recreational use?

Right now it is illegal on a federal level which prevents banks and other traditional methods of raising capital because those are federally regulated. They won't touch anything that is illegal federally for fear of facing criminal charges. There's probably other reasons too but that's the big one I believe.
