Merger vote
Can anyone comment on the certainty of the merger vote passing by either company? What is required by both companies for it to go through? I am concerned based on the reminders that were sent out. Thanks for comments

It is a 2/3s majority vote. Personally, although I was originally against it, they got my vote and I think we will see over 90% in favour. This WILL pass.

Yes. In my opinion and I'm not a guru when it come to stock trading and anaylsis so take it with a grain of salt but if there is a low turnout people make start to speculate that it isn't the greatest deal.

Dont forget the dropped deals in the past year with Cineplex, Couche Tard and recently Air Canada. We are not immune to it. Those that have already cashed out all or most of their holdings can afford to speculate

The emphasis is to get it approved in the first round. They know there are lots of lightweight retailers that hold a low quanity of shares that just won't vote thinking their vote doesnt matter. That is why the emphasis.

Shareholder meeting was kind of confusing but it almost sounded like it was approved. Don't quote me on that though. Sedar document is supposed to be filed "shortly after the meeting adjourned"...

Let's just hope that a lot of big players don't sell on the news.
