Are the prices pot stocks being manipulated

Buy day traders ( go long and short a stock same day), smart money, like brockerages/software, and algos----computerized software that buys and sells the stock all day????

Yes!!! Case in point:

The runup of APHA to $40
and the day's low today----$16.6... or whatever

that's in less than 8 weeks...

Another case in point:
On Monday night, OGI closed at approx $3.10.

Next morning, the company reported earnings of $14million, $10 million below the previous quarter....

Now most of the time, stocks Gap down when poor earnings are announced---loook what happened to APHA earlier this week.

Well, Welll, Well, stock traders/not stock investors, ran the share price up to $3.60 on the day earnings were brutal...And the stock closed near the high.

So the retailer who knows f-all holds or buys more shares, ignorant of the reality of stock manipulation and fundamentals---EPS.

Next day, OGI opens lower, closes lower.

Yesterday, OGI closes at $3.10

Today, it opens at $2.9....or whatever.

You would not see this kind of shite for small caps that were judged to have good value.

The pot sector is a speculative market----for all pot stocks.

A word of caution: Don't dump all of your money in the pot sector!!! Even now, 3 years after legalization the pot sector is a huge disappointment!!!!

Buyers beware.

ApHa share price??? Next quarter???? Pull the slot machine at the casino.

Trading pot stocks is just a game of stock price manipulation!!

Yep, hind sight is always 20/20 and very easy to analyse, what is not easy is predicting what pattern a multi billion dollar algo will do to get an edge on another multi billion dollar competing algo. You need allot of tools, experience and luck as algo can run you down untill you are out of money and a multi billion dollar fund can outlast any retail investor I can assure you of that, especially ...more

You're absolutely correct. the brokerage firms (Big Boys) run the Rigged Casino. Naked Shorting is as common as regular trading. The Regulators just turn a blind eye to it. White collar crime in plain sight. The Casino always wins.

To a certain extent I agree with you however, Covid is what keeps Aphria speculative. We have a good business globally and a product legalizing in country after country. Irwin Simon including Tilray are capitalizing on this trend. We are kept under the umbrella of speculative because we are dealing with extraordinary circumstances of lockdowns. Aphria could have reported an incredible quarter with ...more

However you are correct. We are in a temporary downtrend and today's gains can very well evaporate.  You've called the shots right but it was a miscalculation on everyone else's thoughts. Last quarter lockdowns really boosted sales and was very good for cannabis specifically Aphria. The lockdowns are seemingly having an effect on people and the foot traffic has slowed down as ...more
