Obama Waterloo

Obama flies into Waterloo for 1st time as President

This isn't the first time President Barack Obama has visited Cedar Falls/Waterloo, but
it is the first time he has flown into this airport as president of the United States.
Airport officials say the last time he flew into Livingston Aviation, he was just a senator.
Air Force One flew into Livingston Aviation just before two Wednesday afternoon. That's about 500 feet from
the main terminal at the Waterloo Regional Airport.
Alongside the president was Iowa's Second District Congressman Dave Loebsack.
When President Obama got off the plane Wednesday afternoon, he quickly ran into his vehicle.
The President doesn't travel light, though. There were about 15 other vehicles included in his motorcade,
including Secret Service, Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies, Waterloo Police and Iowa State Patrol.
The drive only took a few minutes, and the president arrived at Cedar Falls Utilities in Cedar Falls.
The president usually flies in a Boeing 747. Wednesday's plane was a 757 -- the smaller plane that the Vice
President usually flies in.
No matter which plane he takes, the plane the President rides in is considered Air Force One.
